Derwent Coloursoft Colour Pencils

Derwent Coloursoft

At Pegasus we are delighted to welcome onto our shelves the new range of Coloursoft blendable crayons from Derwent. These lovely coloured pencils have deep, velvety colour at their heart.

The special core is softer than any other coloured pencil, but can still be sharpened to a fine point for detailed work, as well as for more broad, sweeping strokes. The pencils are made from sustainable incense cedar, which sharpens consistently. The soft core texture allows the build up of subtle blended effects. There are 72 rich colours in the range.

Artists have told us that Coloursoft are close to the now discontinued Karisma coloured pencil range that was so popular

Coloursoft pencils are available singly, and in tins of 12, 24, 36 and 72.The same range is also available in beautiful wooden presentation boxes Maple Box of 18 colours, Wooden Box of 24,
and the larger very special box of 72.

There is also a specially selected 'Skintones' tin of six colours; Cream, Blush Pink, Pink, Ochre, Dark Terracotta and Brown Earth, enabling artists to create life-like skin tones.

Derwent Wooden Box Set of 24 Coloursoft Pencils

If you decide to treat yourself the Derwent pencil boxes are immensely well designed, the drawers are magnetised and the surface where the pencils are laid is flocked to hold pencils firm.

Layering with Derwent Coloursoft produces glowing depth of colour, and the finish can be enhanced by blending and burnishing.

The Derwent Burnisher is a firm, colourless pencil designed to seal layers and add shine to polished surfaces and highlights. (coming into stock soon)

The Derwent Blender is a softer colourless pencil, with a core made from the Coloursoft binder. It is designed to combine layers of colour to subtly blend and produce new tonal effects. It can be used to soften hard edges and unify areas of colour, and used in conjuction with the Burnisher. (coming into stock soon)

Derwent has a well-deserved reputation for fine quality art materials; these handsome pencils are a welcome addition to the products already in stock at Pegasus Art
